Unlike ordinary grammar checkers that are designed to appeal to a large range of users, Trinka’s AI grammar checker is tuned for more advanced, complex writing that may be missed by ordinary grammar tools and software.
Trinka AI is typically used by academics, researchers, and technical writers. One of Trinka AI’s more unique features is its focus on being a privacy-first platform.
It features strong encryption, tight control of user data, and optional advanced data plans. It also self-deletes dashboard data after 90 days if you’re a premium user.
As an AI-powered grammar checker, Trinka AI highlights that it runs on a proprietary and patented AI model.
Because of its focus on highly technical and academic writing, we wanted to put its AI grammar checker to the test with both a basic grammar check and a more advanced option.
For this test, we generated two passages using ChatGPT:
This allows us to test Trinka AI to see how its grammar checker performs when faced with comparatively different challenges.
It’s also worth noting that Trinka AI offers a premium version; for the purposes of this test, we concentrated solely on the Lite version.
For the basic test, Trinka AI was able to highlight numerous grammar errors, but it did not catch many other issues, such as the misspelling of “bussiness,” “atract,” “rite,” etc.
It also failed to catch grammatical errors like “what attract customers” although it did catch the same error further down the page where it highlighted “what means your website.”
It also skipped several punctuation issues and other problems that impeded the flow of the piece.
The advanced test suffered similar issues as the initial basic test, including neglecting to add a comma between videos and infographics, and correcting the spelling of “elementi.”
However, it did catch the British spelling (optimise) as well as several other advanced grammar issues.
Trinka AI does a fine job of highlighting many common grammar issues; however, it missed several other grammar and spelling issues.
