Prepostseo is an online platform that offers a number of SEO (search engine optimization) tools, including a free online plagiarism checker.
Prepostseo’s plagiarism check aims to “detect duplicate or copied content from your documents and shows the percentage of plagiarism along with the source.”
In this review, we tested the Prepostseo plagiarism checker to see how well it worked, by testing it with both direct copy-and-paste plagiarism as well as patchwork plagiarism. Read on for the full results.

Prepostseo is a collection of over 150 different SEO tools that include everything from FAQ generators to article humanizers.
Many of its tools are designed to help search engine optimization professionals in a variety of situations, such as quickly counting words, checking for keyword density and so on.
For the purposes of this review, we tested Prepostseo’s plagiarism checker.
Prepostseo provides access to a number of simple and easy-to-use SEO, domain name and writing tools, including AI generators, text comparison, and more involved tools like broken link checkers.
These types of tools are marketed towards professionals in the SEO and digital marketing industry who are looking to complete a range of tasks from fixing broken links to generating captions for social media. Other industries that may find applications for its tools include web developers and designers, web publishers, content creators, and more.
For this test, we focused exclusively on Prepostseo’s plagiarism checker.
We divided the test into two parts:
Step 1: We first selected two text samples directly from the Originality.ai blog:
1. 7 Benefits of Using a Sentence Grammar Checker
2. What Does a Marketing Agency Do?
Step 2: We then pasted the content directly into the Originality.ai plagiarism checker and into Prepostseo’s plagiarism checker. We then ran both tools’ plagiarism checks respectively.
Step 3: For the second part of the test, we chose examples of patchwork plagiarism, which is a more subtle example of plagiarism. Because patchwork plagiarism often draws from numerous sources and “patches” them together, it is typically more challenging to identify.
Step 4: We then ran both patchwork texts through Prepostseo and the Originality.ai Plagiarism Checker to compare results.
Originality.ai Plagiarism Checker: 100% Match
Prepostseo: 100% Plagiarized Content
Originality.ai Plagiarism Checker 100% Match
Prepostseo: 100% Plagiarized Content
Originality.ai Plagiarism Checker: 65% Match
Prepostseo: 3% Plagiarized
Originality.ai Plagiarism Checker: 77% Match
Prepostseo: 59% Plagiarized
Prepostseo did well when it came to uncovering direct copying and pasting plagiarism, scoring 100% on both published blog articles.
However, its ability to detect plagiarism on patchwork content was inconsistent.
In the first patchwork test, where Originality.ai identified a 65% Match, Prepostseo only spotted 3% similarity or plagiarism. Then, in the second sample, we ran for the patchwork test, Originality.ai identified a 77% plagiarism match while Prepostseo noted a 59% match.
For users, the inconsistency of patchwork plagiarism results is a limitation to be aware of.
Prepostseo’s plagiarism checker is free to use up to 1,000 words and it does not require registration. Registering does bump up the word count slightly to 1,200 words.
However, to scan longer text, you’ll need to opt into a paid or premium plan:
Prepostseo offers the following premium plans:

Prepostseo’s plagiarism checker performed well at checking for copy-and-paste plagiarism and identified that the text was plagiarized, along with its source. However, during testing, its inconsistent ability to detect patchwork plagiarism highlighted the limitations of the tool.
This variance means that further testing is needed before relying on this tool as a content professional.
For a more accurate check that identifies complex examples of plagiarism, we recommend using the Originality.ai plagiarism checker.
