Is Grok 4.6 Content Detectable? Testing xAI’s Latest AI Model

On August 12, 2026, xAI released Grok 4.6, the latest Grok model. In xAI’s launch post, they note that Grok 4.6 is a frontier intelligence model that rivals GPT-5.6 Sol: “Grok 4.6 achieves frontier intelligence across several agentic coding and knowledge work benchmarks. It matches GPT-5.6 Sol on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index.”

Grok 4.6 is one of the latest LLMs released in recent months, as AI companies race to build the leading models:

• OpenAI’s release of GPT 5.6 Sol, Luna, and Terra
• Anthropic’s launch of Claude Fable 5
• DeepSeek’s V4 Pro

Just to name a few of the recent LLM launches.

‍5,000 high-quality human-written samples spanning:

• Domains/Topics: health, news, finance, technology, arts & entertainment
• Content Types: blogs, reviews, expository articles, conversational text
• Prompt Structures: to maximize stylistic and topical diversity

Then, Grok 4.6 was used to generate completions for each human-written sample prompt.

This produced a balanced dataset to evaluate the accuracy of Originality.ai’s AI detection capabilities.

After testing Originality.ai AI Allowance on this dataset, we found that Grok 4.6 is still highly detectable by the industry-leading Originality.ai AI detector.
