Micah Voraritskul is the founder of VerifiedHuman™, a mission-driven movement dedicated to addressing the global challenge of distinguishing human-authored content from generative AI content. This case study explores how VerifiedHuman™ is using Originality.AI to tackle this global issue, with their current focus on supporting educators and schools.
VerifiedHuman™ began as a way to address the gaps in legislative and technological solutions to the growing concern about AI worldwide. Led by Micah, this collective of creatives, thinkers, educators, and everyone in between created a movement with a mission: to set standards and provide solutions for the identification of human versus AI-generated content. The initiative promotes and supports the honest, responsible, and original work of creators in various domains, including writers, visual artists, voice actors, and musicians.
While they support all types of original, creative work, VerifiedHuman™ is currently focusing on a widespread issue in education: the struggle of educators to verify whether their students’ work was their own or generated by AI. This global problem called for a solution to distinguish AI-generated content from human-authored work.
During their research on AI detection and evasion technologies, Micah and the VerifiedHuman™ discovered Originality.AI. Recognizing its potential, they decided to integrate it into their workflow to address the challenge of verifying authorship in the world of education.
Micah reports that Originality.AI plays a central role in VerifiedHuman™'s latest study. Their general workflow works like this:
As you can see, it is utilized for two critical steps: analyzing content of suspected GPT content or unknown authorship, and providing insights to guide best practices as the educational landscape evolves.
Micah and VerifiedHuman™ are currently conducting a comprehensive study involving 1,000 writing samples from schools in the US, Philippines, EAU, and China. They’ve made Originality.AI instrumental in this study, as it will be used to assess all writing samples alongside human rubrics to determine authorship.
While the results will not be available until Spring of 2024, there’s no doubt that the tool plays a pivotal role in their ongoing research. If you’d like to learn more about the study, you can visit their website here.
VerifiedHuman™ recognizes the importance of addressing the challenge of distinguishing human-created content from AI-generated content in the education sector, and trusts Originality.AI to be their go-to AI detection tool in this important study. The movement looks forward to sharing their success story and insights with the broader community, continuing their mission to set industry standards for content authenticity.
