Ever since the launch of ChatGPT back in late 2022, the internet has been flooded with new AI writing tools, each one vying to become the go-to for marketers, small businesses, and freelancers.
The fact that I have reviewed so many should be a clear indicator of just how saturated the market has become, with everyone trying to get their piece of the AI pie.
However, while many of these tools act as a fancy front-end to ChatGPT (more on that later!), Content at Scale (now known as BrandWell) decided to do things a little differently.
In this review, we will look at the following:
Overall, I was extremely impressed by the capabilities of the Content at Scale platform. The content produced was extremely well structured and allowed users to create SEO-friendly content that needs minimal editing to get it to a point where you can publish it on your website.
The price is a little steep, and the lack of any form of free trial is a shame, but it is still a tool we highly recommend checking out.
As with all of our AI writing tool reviews, I conducted a thorough and in-depth analysis of the Content At Scale tool.
It is important to point out that the CaS team were kind enough to provide me with some free credits to test out the paid features within the AI tool platform, which allowed me to conduct even more thorough first-hand research.
However, I still reviewed this tool with complete impartiality, highlighting the tool's qualities while also identifying areas it currently lacks or could improve.
As always, Originality.ai believe that transparency in the AI content world is crucial, and it's important to reiterate that this collaborative approach did not impact the findings of this Content at Scale review.
Given the wide variety of price points, Content at Scale is accessible to almost anyone, whether it's human writers searching for SEO support or large corporations looking to increase their content production.
As the name suggests, Content at Scale focuses on producing high-quality content in large quantities, which is why some of the bigger subscription options may be enticing to companies who require such AI writing services.
It is ideal for anyone who needs to craft long-form articles, whether it be to help them identify keywords and phrases they should include, identify a target audience, or craft the perfect outline for a blog post.
Note: In August 2024, Content at Scale announced they were re-branding to BrandWell.
As with any AI platform, the more information you provide the Content at Scale AI writing software with, the more chance you have that the outcomes will match your needs and require minimal editing. Even just a layer more information can lead to high-quality blog posts that you can make quick tweaks to and publish.
Unfortunately, there is no free trial to speak of, but once you are on the platform, you should spend time looking around and becoming accustomed to the tools on offer before you start spending your monthly credits.
The AI content writing tool within Content at Scale is designed to help you create a wide range of content. For example, you could use the tool to create blog posts, a meta description, YouTube scripts, social media captions, and so on.
The platform isn't packed with the same volume of content writing tools and templates as some other brands, but that is because it can all be done with the Generative AI or Project settings.
The first feature on offer within the Content At Scale platform is to "Create a Project". This tool allows you to provide the AI software with information about your desired outcome, such as who it is for, what the audience is like, and so on.
There are quite a few AI tools that have this stage in the process, but very few actually use it effectively, if at all.
To test it out, I decided to do the same for a company called AI Content Expert. Here's our project:
Once we hit "Create Project", we are immediately taken within the project, where we have the option of creating our first post. There is also a pop-up that appears in the bottom left-hand corner, promoting a tutorial video for this process if needed. This is a nice touch and one that isn't too intrusive but is available if needed.
Let's hit "Write Post" and get cracking.
Content at Scale then asks me to identify the source of the content, with an option to write something SEO friendly, rewrite existing content, create content for a YouTube video or podcast episode, or via a custom audio file or document.
For the purposes of this review, we will use a keyword phrase. Using Answer The Public, I can see that the phrase 'is AI content bad for seo' is getting a lot of traffic, so let's go with that.
You'll see I've also added some additional notes to ensure the first draft covers my key talking points.
Here's what Content at Scale produced for us:
As you can see, the content is extremely well laid out and follows all of the essential SEO techniques, some of which are often forgotten.
For example, the URL 'is-ai-content-bad-for-seo' instead of the full title and the fact that a specific phrase appears in the meta description are excellent SEO procedures.
You will also see that the tool provides an Optimization Score, much like the most popular SEO tool, SurferSEO. This shows information on imagery, word count, links, and more, and currently gives us a score of 68, which we can improve by adding more secondary keywords or images.
This scoring system is brilliant, but only if it is accurate. So, with that in mind, let's put the same keyword phrase into SurferSEO, the most respected SEO tool on the market, copy and paste the Content at Scale AI-generated content, and see what score we get.
Pleasingly, the exact same score! This result is extremely impressive and adds further validity to the SEO elements of Content at Scale.
Content at Scale also provides plugins for WordPress and Shopify, allowing you to upload your generated content to your website quickly and seamlessly.
Content at Scale also has its own built-in chatbot, rivalling that of ChatGPT. It offers similar support but has a much greater propensity to absorb knowledge about your style and requirements, ensuring the content generated suits your needs.
Finally, Content At Scale also offers its own AI content detection software, so it's important that we cover that as well. To do this, let's use our AI-generated article on 'Is AI Content Bad for SEO?'. We know this is 100% AI-generated, so let's see if it gets detected as such.
As you can see from the screenshot above, Content at Scale detects its own AI-generated content as something that passes as human.
Let's run that same article through Originality.ai and see if we get the same result:
Our detector immediately detects that the content is likely AI-generated, which highlights the importance of adding your own edits to anything you generate within Content at Scale.
While there are plenty of different AI engines to choose from, few will be able to provide you with the wide range of content creation tools on offer at Content at Scale.
However, for some, the price point may just be too high, and you may need a lower monthly cost to create long-form content.
If that is the case, some of the most rounded AI tools for content production of all types include Ad Creative AI, Simplified AI, or Neuraltext.
However, if those tools are also out of your price point, you could also consider free tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude AI. Just don't expect these tools to provide the same range of features as Content at Scale.
As we have already touched on, the content created on Content at Scale was detected as having a 98% chance of being AI-generated, which acts as a timely reminder of the importance of an amended copy and adding your own style before publishing it.
Overall, Content at Scale is certainly one of the most impressive AI tools that we have reviewed on this platform. Some form of free trial or 'Lite' version at a lower price point would improve our rating score, allowing people to try before they buy.
However, once you have tried it, it is hard to think of any other AI writing tools that create such well-structured and quality content. However, that still doesn't remove the need for human writers or editors to make any final tweaks before publishing for the best results.
Content At Scale is a very reliable AI tool for creating content. The tool scrapes search engines for the latest information on what is ranking and makes the content creation process easy with its excellent user interface. All payment information is secured, and no personal information is shared with third parties.
Content At Scale is one of the more expensive AI tools in the market, but with that, you get a very impressive user interface, plenty of video tutorials, and content creation that occurs in just a few minutes.
It is no secret that many AI writing tools use the exact same natural language processing as ChatGPT, but with some fancy front end that makes it look nice.
Content At Scale is actually a stack of three different engines and NLP's working together. It has its own semantic analysis algorithms built in that parse the top of Google, break it down and write fresh content that ranks and competes against that content.
It finds links, puts those links into that content, creates tables of content, interactive elements, and a lot more. You can even train the engine on 'unique voices', so if freelance writers want to have CaS output the same style as they have written previously, then that's an option.
