Voilà is an AI virtual assistant which includes an AI text “humanizer” that aims to “humanize” AI-generated text by making it flow in a way that reflects how a human would write.
We wanted to test how this AI humanizer worked to see if it could generate writing that could be spotted by popular AI detectors, including Originality.ai’s AI detector, as well as ZeroGPT and Writer.

Voilà is an AI virtual assistant which offers tools to help users “Transform AI-generated content into natural, human-like writing.”
For the purpose of this review, we focused entirely on the Voilà Humanizer, which attempts to improve AI-generated text so that it sounds and flows in a more human, natural-sounding manner.
Despite the advances in making AI generate text that sounds similar to human writing, many AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Jasper and Claude, still write in a way that’s very formulaic and robotic. It's one of the common issues with AI writing.
In an attempt to make this robotic text sound more authentic, many tools have emerged with the aim of “humanizing” AI-generated text.
But do these AI humanizers really work? We decided to put Voilà to the test.
Unlike many other AI humanizers, Voilà offers a number of tone selections from its drop-down menu.
Most AI humanizers will offer you a choice between casual or formal, but Voilà goes beyond the default by offering a variety of tones like Luxury, Engaging, Direct, Academic and more, letting you fine-tune the results to your particular audience.
For the purpose of this test, we used the default “Neutral” tone.
This test was designed to see if the AI text that was run through the Voilà Humanizer tool and was “humanized” could bypass ZeroGPT, Writer AI, and the Originality.ai AI content detector.
Step 1: First, we generated a sample of text on a random topic in ChatGPT. This was done to make sure that all the tools would have a fair and equal baseline to draw from when deciding between clearly AI-generated text, versus the Voilà humanized version.
Step 2: We then ran the AI-generated text through Originality.ai, ZeroGPT, and Writer AI to get a base score.
Step 3: We pasted the same AI-generated text into Voilà Humanizer and had the platform “humanize” it using their specific process.
Step 4: We then pasted the humanized AI text into ZeroGPT, Writer AI, and Originality.ai to see if they could successfully detect the text as having been AI-generated or not.

As the screenshots show, Originality.ai’s industry-leading AI detector and ZeroGPT were able to accurately spot Voilà’s humanized version as 100% AI.
However, Writer was unable to identify either the ChatGPT or humanized version of the text as AI-generated.
During the test, Voilà didn’t extensively change the wording, swapping just a few words and rewriting sentences in more active or passive voice accordingly.
Further, the text humanized by Voilà was still detectable as AI-generated by the most accurate Originality.ai AI Checker.

The tool is available as a standalone platform, as well as a browser extension and as an app. It’s designed to help individuals summarize documents, improve their writing, and, in the case of the humanizer, make AI-generated text sound more human.
However, as our test shows, both Originality.ai and ZeroGPT were able to detect AI writing despite the ‘humanized’ changes.
In our tests, we found that Voilà was unable to humanize AI-generated text to the point where it was undetectable; the Originality.ai AI Checker still identified it as Likely AI with 100% Confidence.
Voilà is free to use, and there does not appear to be a limitation on the number of characters or words. However, it does require you to paste in your text as the platform doesn’t appear to accept other formats like PDF or Microsoft Word documents. You can also optionally change the tone of the humanized writing to more formal, more casual.
