To do this, follow these steps:

  • Locate your Google Slides presentation.
  • Open it on your screen.
  • Locate the “Tools” menu, situated at the top of your screen.
  • Click on the Tools menu bar
  • Note the drop-down menu.
  • Choose “Word Count.”
  • Note the new window that appears, this provides all the current word count information you want including number of words, number of pages, number of characters (both with and without spaces) and total slide number.

Using Shortcuts Through Your Keyboard

There is another route you might want to take to display word count and that’s using shortcuts through your keyboard, let’s look at this in more detail below:

  •  Find your Google Slides presentation.
  •  Open it on your screen.
  • Then, press “Ctrl Shift” together (these are on your keyboard to the left corner at the bottom).
  • While pressing on these keys, press the “C” key as well.
  • You should see a new pop-up window with the word count total, page count total, character count total (both with spaces and without spaces) and the slide count too.

The Explore Tool

Here’s yet another useful method using the Explore Tool. Follow the steps below:

  • Locate your Google Slides presentation.
  • Open it.
  • Look at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
  • Locate the “Explore” button and click on it.
  • Note the search bar that appears.
  • In the search bar, key in “word count.”
  • Next, you’ll see search results, locate the “word count” and click on it.
  • You should see the word count, page count, character (with and without spaces) count and slide count.
