We’ve previously reviewed the EssayPro plagiarism detector; now we’re testing out the EssayPro AI detector.

Who is EssayPro built for?

EssayPro is geared toward students who may need extra support or guidance when it comes to writing essays, such as checking spelling or grammar, understanding essay structure (outlines), and more.

Other tools offered on the site can help students make sure their references are cited correctly (like a citation generator) or lengthen their essays.

Alongside providing tools for these, EssayPro also promotes its own essay writing services.

EssayPro vs. Originality.ai: The Test

Step 1: We had ChatGPT generate sample text on content marketing for the test.

Step 2: We then pasted the generated text into both Originality.ai and EssayPro to see how accurately each platform performed in terms of spotting AI content. We provided each one with different styles of content, including:

The Originality.ai AI detector was able to detect all three types of AI text with 100% confidence that it was Likely AI.

In contrast, as you can see from our test results, EssayPro’s AI detector failed to detect the AI text generated in the form of an email (scored as 0% AI). For the AI blog sample, it then detected 40% AI, and for the research paper abstract, it identified 53% AI.
