While Close is primarily a customer relationship management software designed to support a sales team with their sales process, that doesn't mean our approach to reviewing the AI aspects of this tool differed from other reviews.
While this review doesn't take into account every aspect of this CRM system, and there are many other advanced features for customers to take advantage of, this AI review focuses specifically on the AI elements, which we have tested first-hand to see whether or not they are up to scratch.
As Close is a CRM platform first and foremost, the AI tool is idea for any small businesses or solo entrepreneurs that need to quickly turn around email responses, and don't have time to craft detailed and personalized ones from scratch.
Close AI focuses specifically on email outreach, subject line generation, and internal and external email communications.
The first AI integration on offer within Close is Fireflies, which offers you a voice assistant and transcription tools to help automate your team's workflow.
With this integration added, each call gets automatically logged in Close under the right contact. You will then also get a link to your transcript, audio recording and brief notes, allowing you to review the key points and follow up accordingly.
The second AI feature on offer is Close GPT, which is Close's version of ChatGPT. Essentially, it is a link to ChatGPT, where Close is integrated, to combine the benefits of both platforms and 'Leverage the power of AI to navigate your company's relationships with prospects and customers faster than ever before.'
To access this integrated platform, you will need to have a ChatGPT Plus membership, as the free version of ChatGPT doesn't allow for these types of integrations.
Finally, Close AI works directly with a company called Copyfactory, which focuses specifically on generating content that is suitable for the target audience for Close.
The tool is free to sign up for and, like Close, allows you to initially test out the integration for free, before determining whether or not it adds value to your Close platform experience.
If Close CRM's AI content generation isn't to your liking, thankfully, almost all CRM platforms now have their own AI assistant to lean on.
For example, two very similar platforms to check out would be Pipedrive and Outreach. Both companies, but CRM first, have an AI system in place similar to that found in Close CRM.
If you need more AI features than email marketing, then AI platforms like Ad Creative have many more on offer but don't offer the same CRM features.
Given that the Close AI assistant is actually a ChatGPT plugin, we were expecting the content generated to be detected immediately by Originality Standard 2.0, which is exactly what happened with an example email we created.
In summary, it is difficult to score Close AI any higher than a seven out of ten, given its limitations and lack of options.
However, it is also unfair to penalize the platform for this, as AI is only a small element of what Close AI offers its users.
With that said, if you are searching for a modern CRM platform that offers AI support features, we highly recommend checking out the 14-day free trial to see if Close is the right platform for you.
And remember, any AI content you generate should always be personalized to avoid coming across as bland, generic, or uninterested in the email recipient.
