Content is vital if you run a website. But with the emergence of AI writing tools and automated content creation, it’s becoming increasingly more work to guarantee the quality and originality of content on your site.

Plagiarism has long been the number one enemy of webmasters. However, with the widespread availability of AI content generation tools, machine-generated content is now an equal, if not greater concern.

After all, you want your content to achieve a good ranking in Google search results. In Google’s August 2022 helpful content update, the search engine giant indicated that they will penalize any content that might sound unnatural and seem to be AI-generated.

In other words, you need assurance that the content you are putting on your website is not AI-generated. That’s where AI detection tools like PoemOfQuotes come in.

Today, we will explore what PoemOfQuotes offers and how it compares to other AI content detection tools.

Features

Before going into detailed performance analysis and comparison, let’s quickly run through the top features of PoemOfQuotes.

  • GPT-3 content detection: GPT-3 is an advanced natural language processing model from OpenAI that has revolutionized the AI-based content creation industry. Currently, most AI writing platforms use GPT-3 or GPT-2. PoemOfQuotes can detect content generated by either model.
  • Quick process: The AI content scanning and detection processes are relatively easy and fast. PoemOfQuotes won’t ask you to sign up for a paid version; rather, it lets you use the AI detection feature up to four times in one session.
  • Recommendation of advanced tools: PoemOfQuotes allows you to check up to 50 to 200 words of text at a time, which may not be sufficient for many users. But PoemOfQuotes doesn’t leave those users in the dark. Instead, it recommends you head to another advanced AI detection platform.

Pros

  • Easy interface
  • No complicated scoring
  • Instant results

Cons

  • Limited length of content
  • Restriction on the number of content pieces you can check
  • No plagiarism detection

Testing PoemOfQuotes’ Accuracy

Now it’s time to put PoemOfQuotes to the test and weigh it against other competitors, like Originality.ai. For this purpose, we decided to use text samples from seven entirely AI-written articles. Jasper.ai, one of the most popular AI writing platforms, generated our test samples.

So, we already know that our sample texts are AI-generated. Now we want to see whether PoemOfQuotes can detect it, too. Simultaneously, we also want to learn whether it can offer a more promising performance than Originality.ai.

First, we scanned all of our sample content with Originality.ai. Since Originality.ai supports URL and domain scanning, we didn’t have to copy and paste the individual texts manually. Instead, we provided Originality.ai with the link for scanning and had our results ready quickly.

Now, it’s time to repeat the process for PoemOfQuotes. Unfortunately, we came across a few problems that required us to improvise. Firstly, PoemOfQuotes did not let us copy the full text of our articles in one go, as the allowed word limit is 200. To work around this, we randomly picked essential parts from each piece and used that for our interpretation.

PoemOfQuotes also displays results differently from Originality.ai. Originality.ai gives you a specific AI detection score. That score indicates the probability of having AI content within your test sample. But PoemOfQuotes does not give you a clear score.

Instead, the platform shows only two different variations of results – 1) the text appears to be AI-generated, and 2) the text appears to be human-generated.

Although we couldn’t compare the tools’ performance in a straightforward way, we’ve summed up the results in the table below. Let’s take a look.

Originality.ai’s 100% score means that there is a 100% probability of your content being AI-generated. Keeping that in mind, you can see that Originality.ai correctly found AI content in five of seven samples.

On the other hand, PoemOfQuotes detected AI texts in four out of seven samples. Unfortunately, as PoemOfQuotes does not show a probability score, we couldn’t calculate an average detection score.

That said, this comparison table still helps you get a sense of the capabilities and detection accuracy of the platforms.

Comparing PoemOfQuotes to Other Platforms

Moving on from our comparison test results, now let’s review how PoemOfQuotes delivers, considering features and usability.

  • Word limits: There’s no way to override the word limit set by PoemOfQuotes when you do a scan. It’s strictly limited to 200 words. If you need to check a large article, PoemOfQuotes recommends you subscribe to another platform.
  • AI detection scores: In the absence of a specific AI detection score, you won’t know the actual probability of your text being AI-generated. For instance, if there is a 10% probability of AI presence in your text, it may not be an issue. But PoemOfQuotes does not communicate their detection methodology or scoring.
  • Limited attempts: The platform also limits the number of times you can run a free scan in one session. After four attempts, it automatically restricts you from running any further scans. This can be very inconvenient when you’re in a hurry.
  • Pricing: PoemOfQuotes does not charge any fees for AI detection. However, the advanced platforms they suggest as alternatives all have monthly subscription fees, starting from $27.98, without any pay-as-you-go options.

Originality.ai, on the other hand, lets you use their services with pay-as-you-go pricing, which is super convenient for most users.

Advantages of PoemOfQuotes

Despite quite a few disadvantages, we need to praise PoemOfQuotes for a few benefits. The most important one is the free pricing. You do not have to open an account or pay anything. You can scan your text in seconds and get an idea of AI presence.

Moreover, we also found the overall user experience pleasant. There’s no complicated, technical terminology or explanations. All you get is a simple statement indicating the presence of AI content in your text.

Conclusion

If you need to look for AI content in a small paragraph or two, without any serious content analysis needed, you don’t have to go further than PoemOfQuotes. But when there is plenty of content, PoemOfQuotes might disappoint you with word restrictions and the way it redirects you to another platform. You might want to opt for Originality.ai for your AI content detection needs in those cases.
